Bramble and Bracken are our two architect-designed, one-bedroom cabins, set apart from one another on our family farm in Dumfries & Galloway. Each cabin sits in its own part of the landscape, carefully positioned to make the most of the south-facing views while giving you a genuine sense of space and privacy.
Inside, there’s a king-size bedroom, full kitchen, wood-burning stove and underfloor heating. Outside, your own copper bath and rainfall shower look out across the countryside, with a Kamado grill and fire pit for evenings under the stars. And when you want to retreat inside, lower the screen and switch on Cinema Mode.
Just two cabins, with plenty of Galloway in between.

The cabins sit on the northern edge of our working family farm, amongst mature oak trees and the undulating landscape that naturally separates Bramble from Bracken. The landscape hasn’t been dressed up for your stay. Sheep still graze the adjacent fields, you may spot the occasional farmer on a quad bike in the distance and, during lambing, you might even spot a new arrival in the field. Most of the time, the sheep will be your nearest neighbours.
It feels wonderfully tucked away, but you’re not cut off. The coast is just three minutes away, while the harbour town of Kirkcudbright is around eight minutes by car, with its galleries, independent shops, cafés and restaurants. From quiet beaches and woodland walks to small towns and dark skies, some of the best of Galloway is within easy reach — and your own quiet corner of it is waiting when you get back.

Minimum stays are typically two nights, although busier periods such as bank holidays and peak seasonal dates may require a longer stay.

Check in is from 4pm onwards and checkout is before 10am. However you can request an early check in from 1pm and late check out at 12pm. This is subject to availability and can be confirmed when you make your reservation.

Standard occupancy is 2 people in our king size bedrooms. Each cabin has a fold out sofa bed in the living room that can be made into a single bed allowing for a third guest. You will be asked to confirm total guest numbers during the booking process.

The 2 cabins are about 100m apart from each other. Nestled amongst mature oak trees, the cabins are thoughtfully positioned within the natural contours of the undulating landscape to create a stronger sense of privacy and separation.

There is a small communal car park a short walking distance from both cabins. It is not possible to drive directly up to each cabin.

Yes, dogs are allowed at the cabins. A single £50 dog fee applies per stay and covers up to 2 dogs per cabin. The supplement includes a comfy dog bed, food and water bowls, an XL microfibre towel, a natural welcome treat and a personalised dog welcome pack to help you discover some of our favourite local walks.

Bookings can be secured with a 50% deposit, with the remaining balance due 30 days before arrival.

Cinema Mode transforms the cabin bedroom into a slower, more atmospheric evening setting at the touch of a button. A hidden projector screen descends to create a cosy private viewing experience designed for quiet nights in beneath the dark skies of Galloway.

Yes they are included. We operate a fair usage policy for complimentary wood and BBQ charcoal consumption. There is a stack of firewood outside the cabins’ entrances, and a bag of charcoal next to the outdoor Kamado grills. Beyond that, we offer additional bags of charcoal for £5 and a wheelbarrow of logs for £15.
